Family Time

Our family is great. We have a big family. I am the oldest. In the picture is, (from left to right): my brother Owen, Dad, Baby Amy, my brother Ryan, me, and my brother Daniel. My mom isn't in this picture because she is taking the picture!!!

Some things that we like to do as a family are: play card or board games, go to St. George, swim, and watch movies on the computer. (We don't have a TV). :(

Our favorite card games are Uno and Pit. Pit is kind of like the stock market, except it is with cards. Everyone knows what Uno is. It is two things. It is a card game and it is "one" in Spanish.
Our favorite board games are Clue Mysteries, Monopoly, and Risk. Clue Mysteries is a different kind of Clue. It has 50 different kinds of mysteries.

Choosing the Wrong (Shakespeare)

When you choose the wrong, you can do three things. You can tell the truth , lie, or try and cover it up. You can always tell when someone is lying. This is a poem (song) about lying.

"My teacher told me I should never tell a lie,
Because a lie will bring you trouble sure as pie.
It's and awful thing to do,
And it's as true as true,
You'll get caught and then you'll start to cry.

"You'll have a horrid painful pounding in your head,
And you'll fell your face get hot and turn bright red.

And you'll feel as bad you'll wish you could lie right down and die.
You're much better off if you never tell a lie,
Not even sometimes."

And worse, Heavenly Father knows, you lose your trust and ruin your character.
This is and example of trying to cover things up.
Example: King David decided not to lead the war. While he was up on the roof, he saw a woman washing herself. He wanted her, so he arranged to kill her husband, Uriah, to get killed. Then the prophet, Nathan, said that he did something wrong and that he can't go into the Celestial Kingdom. He felt bad.

Herbert was walking along the beach, when he saw a bottle. He rubbed it and out popped a genie. The genie said, "I will grant you 3 wishes." Herbert thought for a moment and said, "For my first wish, I would like to be the richest man in the world". A puff of smoke and Poof! All the grains of sand turned into millions of gold coins. "For my next wish", said Herbert," I would like to have muscles like Arnold Swartsinager". And poof! He had fine muscles. Then Herbert said, "For my last wish, I want to be irresistible to girls". And poof! He turned into a Barbie doll. Ha Ha ha!!!!

Piano and other Stuff

This is what I like to do.

I like to play the piano. I am really good. I am learning Jon Schmidt songs. Jon Schmidt is a fun piano guy. I'm learning his "Waterfall" song.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCFzEOQqTOg&feature=related

I don't play it as fast, but I can play it.

I also play basketball. Basketball is my favorite sport. I play it because I am the tall guy, and it is fun. I play in the West Haven Recreation.

I also love to read! Reading is my favorite thing to do. Right now I am reading Brisinger. I have almost all of the Bionicle books, I read Wishbone books, I read Harry Potter, which I finished, and lots of other books. I read for Polar Star, and I have the Reading Merit Badge.

I like John Bytheway. My mom got them and they are so funny. You need to watch them. Everyone knows who John Bytheway is!

Bionicle Heroes is a fun game. It was made by the same company that made Lego Star Wars. I have this on computer. You play as the Toa Inika. The Toa Inika are: Jaller, (say Jal-ah), Hahli, (say hah- lee), Nuparu, (say nu- pa-ru), Hewkii, (say Hoo-kee), Matoro, (say ma-tor-o), and Kongu, (say kon-goo). They must defeat the Piraka, which are the bad guys. The Piraka are: Hakann, (say ha-can), Vezok, (say vee-zok), Reidak, (say ray-dak), Zaktan, (say zak-tan), Avak, (say a-

vak) and Thok, (say it like it is). On the computer, you need to
fight another Piraka: Vezon. On the Gameboy, at the end, you fight all the Piraka at the same time. It is a cool game!!!!

Superstition

Why do we think, "Oh, it is Friday the 13th."? Why do we pick up a penny for good luck? Well, it is this thing called superstition. In the dictionary, superstition means: A belief from fear, ignorance, or from magic and chance from that supernatural.

Superstition is in my family in a lot of ways. First, Friday the 13th. I think it is a bad luck day. Lots of bad things happen on that day. one reason is that if you step on a crack on that day, you break your mom's back. I step on cracks on purpose, and that never happened.

Another bad luck thing is: the black cat. If it crosses your path, you have bad luck for 7 years. I have had lots of black cats cross my path, and I am pretty lucky. It the cat is halfway across, turn around. Also, if you beak a mirror, you get 7 years of bad luck.

There is one thing that I do believe in, and it is: a watched pot never boils. When I boil water for anything, it never does. I hate that. One good luck thing is the lucky penny. If you pick it up off the ground two things will happen: one, you get richer, and two, you get good luck.

We have this thing called the Lewis Family Curse. We never win anything. I broke it when I won an electric piano in a piano recital drawing. I was so surprised. I also won something at the rock and gem show. I am so lucky.

So there is some " beliefs from fear, ignorance, of magic and chance from the supernatural" in my family. Those are our superstitions.

Lord of the Rings

Lord of the Rings is awesome! It is a trilogy in 6 DVDs.The trilogy is: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King. I am on The Return of the King. I am watching it with my mom and dad.

It is about a hobbit named Frodo. A hobbit is a short person who loves to eat. Frodo is the guy in the bottom right corner next to the weird guy named Gollum. He lives with Bilbo Baggins. He is his nephew. Bilbo has this ring that he found in a cave. It is a bad ring of power. There were these guys who made 3 rings for the elves, 6 for the dwarfs, and 9 for the humans. The 9 humans turned evil. Then there was this guy who made a ring of power in the fires of Mount Doom. In order for the ring to be destroyed, it needs to be burned in the fires of Mount Doom, otherwise, it can't be destroyed. So Frodo is taking it to Mount Doom, aided by Sam, his gardener,Merry and Pippen, two other hobbitts, Gandolf the wizard, Legolas, the elf, Gimli, the dwarf, Aragorn is a long living guy, and Boromir, a human.

I is an awesome movie trilogy. I love it. It is my dad's favorite movie.
